City of Darien issued the following announcement on Aug. 12
COVID-19 Update
Currently, DuPage County is seeing increased COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations causing the county to remain at the highest level of Community Transmission, “High,” according to county-level data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In areas of the country experiencing “Substantial” or “High” levels of community transmission of COVID-19, CDC recommends that everyone, including fully vaccinated people, wear a mask in public indoor settings to prevent ongoing transmission of the disease.
For trusted information on the COVID-19 pandemic, we encourage you to turn to these credible local, state and federal sources:
DuPage County Health Department Care Van - COVID-19 Vaccine
The DuPage County Health Department Care Van will make stops in various locations across the County during the month of August. People can walk up to the Care Van and receive a COVID-19 vaccination from a Health Department nurse. The clinic is free and open to all people 12 years or older, including those who do not have health insurance or legal immigration status. The Care Van will offer either the Pfizer vaccine which requires two doses 21 days apart or the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. View Schedule
New Immunization Portal - Vax Verify
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is launching a new immunization portal, Vax Verify, that will allow Illinois residents 18 years and older to check their COVID-19 vaccination record. Vax Verify can be accessed at https://idphportal.illinois.gov. The verification system follows best practices to protect confidential health information. In order to download proof of vaccination, residents will go through a brief, one-time identity verification process to gain access to their immunization history. Immunization records are kept confidential and only the individual can access their vaccination history.
