Former GOP state Rep. Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) could do without all the added population now settling in DuPage County.
“DuPage, run for decades by Republicans, now being invaded by Democrats fleeing the bad policies they voted for in other places,” Ives posted on Facebook.
Using such factors such as schools, cost of living, job opportunities and home values, Niche.com recently ranked DuPage County the most livable county in Illinois. DuPage County also cracked the Top 10 in national rankings at No. 9.
Niche lists Clarendon Hills, Naperville and Hinsdale as the best places to live in DuPage County. Lake County was ranked second followed by McLean County in third.
The median home value in DuPage County is $308,500.
Ives served the 42nd District for six years and was also a Republican candidate for governor in 2018. More recently, she lost to U.S. Rep. Sean Casten in the 6th Congressional District race in 2020 with 45 percent of the vote.
Ives is a graduate of West Point Military Academy and a veteran officer in the United States Army, serving as a platoon leader and headquarters detachment commander for transportation units in Germany, and an ROTC instructor.
