Glen Ellyn announces schedule of Halloween events and trick-or-treat hours

The Village of Glen Ellyn has announced a series of Halloween-themed events for October, culminating in recommended trick-or-treat hours on Friday, October 31 from 3 to 7 p.m.

A Halloween Home Decorating Contest is underway, with entries due by October 16. More information is available on the Village’s website.

Throughout the month, various activities are scheduled across Glen Ellyn. These include the Witches Walk in downtown on October 9 and a Hill Monument Dedication & Cemetery Walk at Forest Hill Cemetery on October 10. The Park District will host several events, such as "Movie in the Park - Wicked" outside the Main Street Recreation Center on October 16 and the Ackerman Haunted Trail at Ackerman Park from October 23 to 24.

Other highlights include a Haunted Library event at the Glen Ellyn Public Library on October 17 and a free family movie screening of "Hotel Transylvania" at Glen Art Theatre on October 18. Families can participate in pumpkin carving sessions at Reserve 22 on October 19.

The Boo Bash and Halloween Festival & Parade are set for October 25 at Ackerman Park and downtown Glen Ellyn respectively. Additional activities like the Glen Ellyn Witches Ride (October 26), Pumpkins on Main Carving Contest (October 27-31), Trunk or Treat (October 27), Tween Hallow’s Eve Dance (October 30), and more provide residents with multiple ways to celebrate safely.

The Village reminds residents that trick-or-treating is recommended between the hours of 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Halloween day.
