Village of Bloomingdale Board of Fire and Police Commission Met Nov. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

1. PROOF OF POSTING

This meeting was duly posted according to State Law.

2. CALL TO ORDER

This meeting was called to order by Commissioner Letizia at 5:00 p.m.

3. ROLL CALL

Upon roll call by the Recording Secretary, the following were:

PRESENT: None

ABSENT: None

PRESENT by TX: Commissioner Cucci, Letizia; Pavone

Director Giammarese

QUORUM PRESENT

4. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES

The approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes from September 16, 2020

AYES: Commissioners Pavone; Cucci; Letizia

NAYS: None

ABSTAIN: None

MOTION DECLARED CARRIED

Commissioners Pavone; Letizia and Cucci all acknowledged the cancellations of the RegularMeeting of October 21, 2020.

5. CORRESPONDENCE

The Commissioners acknowledged the change in medical facilities for the New Officer Testing from Amita Health to Physicians Immediate Care located at 335 E. Army Trail Rd.

6. NEW BUSINESS

7. 11/05/20: Sergeant Dave Spradling completion of 6-month Probation12/19/20.

8. 12/19/20: Probationary Officer Patrick McGinn: Hired: 6/19/19: 18-Month Probation.

9. 12/29/20: Sergeant Paul Alcozer completion of 18-month Probation.

Director Giammarese stated that all were doing a good job and in reference to Probationary Office McGinn, he added that he is doing an outstanding job and maybe his military background may have played a part in his job performance.

7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Conrad Polygraph: Examiner Questions: The Presentation by Marshon Conrad needs to be scheduled.

The Commissioners approved a New Officer Testing process to begin May 1, 2021. They also would like to see us move forward with Lateral Transfers. Director Giammarese stated that heis discussing this with the Village Administrator and Village Attorney to determine if this is something the Village would like to move forward with.

Director Giammarese also updated the Commissions of the K-9 and Drone Programs

K-9 Program: The Department would like to continue to have a K-9 Program although it may take some time due to staffing and 2020 COVID-19 related issues.

Drone Program: The Department has put together a team of Officers that will be trained to use the Drones. We hope that it will be a successful venture for the Department and we anticipate using it both during the day and night hours.

8. NEXT MEETING DATE

The next regularly scheduled Board of Fire and Police Commission meeting will be held onWednesday, December 16, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

9. ADJOURNMENT

On a Motion by Commissioner Letizia, seconded by Commissioner Cucci, the RegularMeeting of November 18, 2020 was adjourned at 5:28 p.m.
