“The U.S.A. will reject the fake patriot Donald Trump,” an anonymous letter sent to a Hinsdale resident reads.
The letter, which recently surfaced in social media posts, is allegedly part of a larger campaign to target Trump supporters in DuPage County. Two members of Facebook groups for conservatives in Hinsdale and Glen Ellyn have reportedly received the letters.
“This is voter intimidation,” one letter recipient, who requested anonymity due to fear of continued harassment, told the DuPage Policy Journal.
The target of the letter is a Trump supporter, but is not vocal about that support given consistent online attacks from those on the left.
“Your favorite demagogue, Donald Trump, is about to lose,” the letter reads. “And to bring down the Republican party with him . . . because only one Republican leader, Mitt Romney, calls Trump out for being the monster that he is.”
News reports of such letters being sent elsewhere in the country have been popping up as well.
