Q4 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in DuPage County?

There were 90 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2019 that live in DuPage County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows that 83 men and seven women were released in DuPage County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 33. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man sentenced for a crime against one or more children in 2013.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was James Britton. He was convicted of homicide in 2000 when he was 25 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the fourth quarter of 2019 in each DuPage County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
