Analysis: Elmhurst pays $5.42 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Elmhurst Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $2,623,011 the Elmhurst Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.42 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Elmhurst contributed $2,214,641 to the fund, which saw a $129,998 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $408,275, or 15.6 percent, in 2018. Another $95 came from other unspecified sources.
