Analysis: Wheaton pays $6.76 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Wheaton Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.1 percent of the $3,368,358 the Wheaton Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.76 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Wheaton contributed $2,933,100 to the fund, which saw a $246,102 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $433,278, or 12.9 percent, in 2018. Another $1,980 came from other unspecified sources.
