DuPage County has received the National Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties for its Recovery and Manufacturing-A Path Up (RAMP-Up) program.

The RAMP-up program, which began with a public-private partnership started by DuPage County’s Workforce Development Division and the Heroin-Opioid Prevention and Education Taskforce, provides training to individuals who are recovering from opioid use and substance abuse, which allows them to gain meaningful employment. This also provides a consistent talent pool for DuPage County’s employers.

“One of the greatest challenges facing our community is the opioid crisis, and we are constantly searching for new ways to reduce the impact of the opioid epidemic on our county,” County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said. “The RAMP-Up Program represents a transformative opportunity offering real change and a measurable impact on the people and communities involved.”

The program was recognized by National Association of Counties in the Community and Economic Development Category.
