Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 60139 convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole near Illinois zip code 60139 during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows that a man and woman were released in 60139. The younger parolee was a 31-year-old woman sentenced in 2014. The other was a 46-year-old man sentenced in 1999.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Andre Brown. He was convicted of homicide in 1999 when he was 26 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
