1. CALL TO ORDER

8:00 AM meeting was called to order by Chairman Grant Eckhoff at 8:00 AM.

2. ROLL CALL

PRESENT: Covert, DiCianni (8:10 AM), Eckhoff, Elliott (8:02 AM), Krajewski, Larsen, Noonan, Puchalski, Renehan, Tornatore, Zay

ABSENT: Healy

County Board member Dawn DeSart was also in attendance.

3. PUBLIC COMMENT

5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

A. Judicial/Public Safety Committee - Regular Meeting - Feb 18, 2020 8:00 AM

RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]

6. PROCUREMENT REQUISITIONS

A. 2020-59 Recommendation for the approval of a contract to Wheaton College, to cover food expenses for the Advanced Severe Weather Seminar being held on March 14, 2020 for OHSEM, for a contract total amount not to exceed $9,413.81. Other Professional Service not subject to competitive bidding per 55 ILCS 5/5-1022(a). Vendor selected pursuant to DuPage County Code Section 2-300.4-108 (1) (b).

A. Informational -- Public Defender's Office January 2020 Monthly Statistical Report

The Public Defender's Report was accepted and placed on file.

Member DiCianni arrived at 8:10 a.m.

9. OLD BUSINESS

Member Renehan brought up the topic of Covid-19. Murray Snow, Director of OHSEM passed out a memo outlining the actions that his department has implemented to date. The DuPage County Health Department is the lead agency, and Mr. Snow is working with senior staff, on how they would deal with impacts to the workforce. He is also coordinating with municipalities, fire, police and the countywide elected officials. Joan Olson, Chief Communications Officer, announced that there would be a phone call with Chairman Cronin, and the mayors on this topic tomorrow and the County Board members were invited to join. Chairman Eckhoff remarked that when he was in Washington D.C. attending the NACo conference the information was focused on how you contract the virus. Suzanne Armstrong the court administrator, has been working with OHSEM and the Health Department since January. She stated that they are striving to keep every contingency covered to ensure they are able to conduct business at the courts.
