City of Darien recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Darien, along with the Holiday Home Decorating Committee, will again be sponsoring a Holiday Lights Decorating Contest. Each year, residents that put extra effort into decorating their homes for the season are nominated by their friends and neighbors for recognition and prizes. The first place home receives $200, second place $100, third place $50, and fourth and fifth place receive $25. The committee will also look to recognize neighborhood blocks that put in extra effort in decorating their area. A minimum of 5 contiguous homes will be considered a block in order to be recognized. The top 5 blocks, as determined by the committee, will receive a certificate of recognition for their effort.
To nominate a home or a block, including your own, call Diane at (630) 353-8102 or email dnoverini@darienil.gov. Nominations must be received by noon on December 7th. Winners will be announced at the December 17th City Council Meeting.
