Seeking public input, DuPage County has scheduled a public meeting regarding the St. Joseph Creek noon to 1 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 23, in room 3500B of the County Administration Building, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.

The county’s stormwater management planning committee is interested in soliciting feedback from residents specifically related to the St. Joseph Creek Water Quality Watershed-Based Plan. Interested participants are encouraged to attend the public meeting and submit written comments.

The public comment period for the draft watershed plan is open through March 9. Comments must be submitted in writing by the end of business on March 9; they can be emailed or sent by U.S. mail.

Written remarks may be submitted via email to Water.Quality@dupageco.org or sent by U.S. mail to Mary Beth Falsey, c/o Department of Stormwater Management, 421 North County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL, 60187.

After the draft plan gains approval from both DuPage County and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), county and local jurisdictions — as well as additional public and private entities — will be eligible to request IEPA grand funding.

The watershed area comprises parts of Darien, Westmont, Downers Grove and Lisle, as well as unincorporated areas of DuPage County. The DuPage County government operates from its base in Wheaton.
