Mayor O'Connor called the City Council Meeting to order at 6:05 P.M. and the roll was called.

Alderman Tina Bohman, Alderman Juany Garza, Alderman Ted Mesiacos, Alderman Bill Donnell, Alderman Mike Saville, Alderman Schemata Hart-Burns, Alderman Rick Mervine, Alderman Edward Bugg, Alderman Lynne Johnson, Alderman Richard Irvin, Alderman Bob O'Connor and Alderman Carl Franco

INVOCATION

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2016

17-00037 Approval of the Tuesday, January 10, 2017 City Council Meeting Minutes.

A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burn, seconded by Alderman Irvin, to approve and file the minutes from the December 20, 2016 City Council meeting as presented. The motion carried by voice vote.

APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT-AT-ARMS

A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman Irvin, to appoint Officer Hornburg as Sergeant-at-Arms for this meeting. The motion carried by voice vote.

PRESENTATIONS

16-01148 Presentation of Awards from the Government Finance Officers Association

1. Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

(Fiscal Year Ended December 31, 2015)

2. Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial

Reporting (Fiscal Year Ended December 31, 2015)

3. Distinguished Budget Presentation Award (Fiscal Year Beginning

January 1, 2016).

Dr. Michael Peddle, Associate Professor of Public Administration at Northern Illinois University, presented the awards to Mayor O'Connor.

16-01198 Recognition of Walter Meinert for his years of service on the Aurora Public Library Board.

Mayor O'Connor presented an token of recognition to Walter Meinert. John Savage, Aurora Library Board President and Michaela Haberkorn, Deputy Library Director also presented recognition tokens to Mr. Meinert.

17-00012 Recognition of the Water Production Department for receiving the “Best Tasting Water” award.

Dave Schumacher, Superintendant of Water Production, and Bob Legible, Assistant Superintendant of Water Production spoke and presented the award for "Best Tasting Water" in Kane County to Mayor O'Connor.

MAYORAL APPOINTMENTS

16-01231 A Resolution Appointing Terrence Lindsay and Steven Verive to the Building Code Board of Appeals.

A motion was made by Alderman Hart-Burns, seconded by Alderman

Mervine,to approve the appointments as presented. The motion carried by the following vote:

16-01232 A Resolution Reappointing Shaun Thomas, Marco Martin, Adam Marshall and Michael Kluber to the Electrical Commission.

This Resolution was approved.

16-01196 A Resolution establishing the maximum number of Class E City of Aurora liquor licenses (unofficially related to application from: Silver Oaks Café, Inc d/b/a Tracy's Bistro 8, 4424 E. New York Street, Aurora).

This Resolution was approved.
