Warrenville City Council OKs tax levy, Breme Drive parking ordinance

The Warrenville City Council held its regular meeting recently at City Hall.

Following routine housekeeping duties and comments from city officials and the public, the council worked on the consent agenda, which included approval of the city’s tax levy for fiscal year 2016, new parking ordinances for parts of Breme Drive and changes to the police chief's official duties.

The council also approved the hiring of Obenauf Auction Services to assist with the disposal of city-owned property, as well as an intergovernmental agreement renewing potable water service with Fermilab. The council also authorized a comprehensive review of the Climate Action Plan for the community, with any recommendations presented at the Jan. 25, 2016, Finance and Personnel Committee Meeting. The council also authorized expenditures for invoices due on or before January 5, 2016, in the amount of $947,540.60.

The meeting’s regular agenda included a closed session on the purchase or leasing of property for public use, as well as the setting of a price for sale or lease of city-owned property.
