Lisle counted 11 licensed child care facilities for 2025, DCFS finds

Of those, 8 locations were licensed day care centers (72.7%), 2 operated as group day care homes (18.2%), and 1 held a family child care home license (9.1%).

Facilities in Lisle accept children from infancy up to age 12, covering age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and those who are school aged.

All Lisle child care providers offer service in English, with every facility supporting this language exclusively.

On Jan. 6, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services suspended federal child care and family assistance funding for Illinois and four other states due to fraud and misuse concerns. The move puts a hold on nearly $2.4 billion from the Child Care and Development Fund, $7.35 billion in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families money, and $869 million in Social Services Block Grants. States now need to supply additional documentation to receive future payments.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker described the move as “wrong and cruel” and said the state could contest the freeze while underscoring current anti‑fraud measures.

Illinois officials estimated that the freeze may touch about 100,000 families and more than 152,000 children through the state’s Child Care Assistance Program, and impact funding for thousands of licensed child care providers and 275 human services agencies.
