Jan.-June 2018 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 60559 convicted of drug crimes
There were three offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole near Illinois zip code 60559 during the first half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that two men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 28. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old woman sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 31-year-old man sentenced in 2016.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Donald R. Murray. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2012 when he was 25 years old. He is now 30.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
