Democratic Party of DuPage County launches postcard campaign for November midterm elections
The Democratic Party of DuPage County has announced the start of a postcard writing campaign aimed at encouraging Democratic-leaning voters in DuPage County to participate in the November 3 midterm elections. The initiative, which began sign-ups this week, targets voters living in apartments, senior living facilities, and other locations that are difficult to reach through traditional door-to-door canvassing.
According to Reid McCollum, Chair of the Democratic Party of DuPage County, "I'm excited to share that we're starting sign-ups to write postcards to Democratic leaning voters across DuPage County to encourage them to vote in the November 3 midterm elections! You can either pick them up (starting this weekend) or we'll deliver them to you. You'll need to provide the postcard stamps, which now cost $0.65. You'll have until October 21 to write one of the message options and address them using the voter list we provide. You can sign up for as few as 25 postcards. Our goal is to send 100,000 postcards, but we're starting with voters countywide who live in apartments, senior living and other places we can't reach by knocking doors."
The campaign is part of a broader effort by the Democratic Party of DuPage County to increase voter turnout and support Democratic candidates. Other ongoing activities include weekly candidate canvassing events on Saturdays and Sundays, virtual phone banks on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and a series of upcoming events such as fundraisers, rallies, and community gatherings. These efforts are designed to mobilize volunteers and engage with voters throughout the summer and into the fall.
The party is also collaborating with local organizations for events like the Indivisible Naperville Singing Resistance and the Good Trouble Weekend of Action, as well as training sessions with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. In addition, the party is encouraging supporters to participate in activities such as food drives and candidate fundraisers.
Supporters are invited to join the postcard campaign, attend events, or volunteer in other capacities to help boost Democratic turnout in DuPage County. The party relies on contributions from members and supporters to fund these efforts.
