Bloomingdale officials announced on July 2 that Village Hall will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day, while residential refuse collection will continue on its regular schedule with no changes to curbside pickup.

At the June 22 Village Board meeting, Mayor Franco Coladipietro issued a proclamation recognizing Juneteenth and encouraged residents to reflect on its significance and celebrate African American history and culture. The Board also approved a new collective bargaining agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150, authorized payment for services through the Addison Consolidated Dispatch Center, and approved continued participation in the DuPage Police Records Management System. Warrant #2 for June, totaling $2,211,633.52, was also approved. According to the Village, meeting agendas, minutes, and additional Board information are available on the Village website.

Residents may notice ongoing fiber optic installation work throughout Bloomingdale by utility providers such as Lumos/T-Mobile, AT&T, and Ezee Fiber. Projects typically take two to four weeks to complete, depending on underground utility conditions. Utility contractors may access designated easements on private property and work within the public right-of-way, but all activities must remain within authorized areas. Residents with questions about Lumos/T-Mobile construction can contact 708-953-4004. AT&T has notified residents of upcoming fiber network construction, and affected residents may receive door hanger notices with more information.

The Village also reminded residents to keep pets safe during Independence Day celebrations by keeping them indoors during fireworks, ensuring doors and windows are secure, and updating microchip information. Residents are encouraged to create a quiet space for pets and consult veterinarians if their pets have a history of anxiety related to fireworks. The Village said, "A little preparation can go a long way toward ensuring a safe and stress-free holiday for both pets and their owners."

Several community events are scheduled in the coming weeks. Restaurant Week returns July 12–18, offering exclusive deals at local restaurants, with passports available at various locations. The Bloomingdale Public Library and the lower level of the Bloomingdale Police Department serve as local cooling centers during summer heat. National Night Out Against Crime will take place on August 4 at Springfield Park, featuring complimentary food, games, and family activities. The Bloomingdale Lions Club thanked residents for helping raise nearly $20,000 for sight, hearing, and civic causes through fundraising events. The Village's free summer branch collection program begins July 20 for single-family detached residences.

Construction on Fairfield Way is underway and expected to continue through early September, with improvements including curb and gutter replacement, driveway aprons, sidewalks, and roadway resurfacing. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes. The Village is a member of the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission, which works to reduce aircraft noise in communities surrounding O’Hare International Airport. Residents may file aircraft noise complaints by phone or online, and additional information is available in the ONCC Airport Noise Management System Monthly Report.
