Analysis: Darien pays $3.91 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Darien Police Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 79.6 percent of the $1,519,794 the Darien Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.91 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, Darien contributed $1,209,939 to the fund, which saw a $5,051 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $308,852, or 20.3 percent, in 2016. Another $1,003 came from other unspecified sources.
