Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board schedules public hearing for townhouse proposal
The Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board will hold a public hearing on July 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Wheaton City Hall, 303 West Wesley Street, to consider a zoning application for new townhouses.
The hearing will be accessible both in person and via Zoom. Participants can join online or dial in by phone using the provided meeting ID and passcode. The board will review Zoning Application #26-19, which requests a special use permit under Article 31.1.A of the Wheaton Zoning Ordinance to allow construction and use of eight townhouses at 1701 E. Roosevelt Road. The property is currently vacant and zoned R-R-4 Roosevelt Road Corridor District.
In addition to the special use permit, the application seeks a setback variation under Article 31.3A of the ordinance to allow a side yard setback of 12.6 feet instead of the required 15 feet from the east property line adjacent to residential property.
Roosevelt Commons, LLC, located at 13 Vennard Court in Lombard, submitted the application on behalf of property owner Sabet M. Siddiqui.
During the public hearing, individuals who wish to make statements are encouraged to do so either verbally or by submitting written comments before or during the session. Copies of the application are available for review at the office of the Director of Planning and Economic Development during regular business hours.
