Will County Schools: Lockport Township High School East welcomed the most students in 2021-22 school year

Lockport Township High School East had the highest enrollment among Will County schools, welcoming 3,778 students during the 2021-22 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Out of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51% of them were boys, and 49% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 70% of the student body at Lockport Township High School East.

Among the 156 schools in Will County, Joliet Central High School ranked second in enrollment with 3,383 students, while Joliet West High School welcomed 3,379 students to be ranked third in the 2021-22 school year.

Lockport Township High School East is a part of Lockport Township High School District 205, which generally encompasses schools within Will County with its main office in Lockport.

In the previous school year, Lockport Township High School East had the highest number of students among Will County schools.

In the 2021-22 school year, Illinois had roughly 1.9 million students enrolled across approximately schools. There were more than 130,000 teachers in the public schools, or roughly one teacher for every 15 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
