Glen Ellyn reports 1 scam in June

One scam report was recorded in Glen Ellyn in June 2026, according to Better Business Bureau.

That matched the number of reports for the previous month.

The report listed a $150 loss from an online purchase scam. It says a deposit was sent via Zelle for an advertised inflatable mechanical bull, followed by a request for an additional insurance deposit. Communication stopped when the additional funds were not sent.

BBB Scam Tracker allows consumers to search reported scams and share their own experiences to help others recognize similar schemes. The BBB says it reviews each report before publication and does not publicly display the reporter’s name or personal contact information.

Fraud reports continue to show large financial losses nationwide. The Federal Trade Commission said consumers reported losing more than $12.5 billion to fraud in 2024, a 25% increase from the previous year.
