The Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board announced on April 8 that it will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers of Wheaton City Hall at 303 West Wesley Street, with an option to participate via Zoom.

The purpose of the hearing is to consider a zoning application requesting two variations from the Wheaton Zoning Ordinance for property located at 1205 Yorkshire Woods Court. The application was submitted by property owners Robert and Laura Glonek.

According to the notice, one requested variation seeks permission to construct a new patio as part of an in-ground pool project with a rear yard setback of 15 feet instead of the required 25 feet. The second request asks for approval to build a pool equipment pad with a side yard setback of six feet rather than the required ten feet.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend and provide comments during the hearing. Written statements may also be submitted before or during the event. A copy of the application is available for review at the office of the Director of Planning and Economic Development during normal business hours.

Nicole Aranas, Chair of the Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board, said anyone wishing to make a public statement will be encouraged to do so.
