Three football players from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) have been named Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances in recent games.
Wheaton College’s Mark Forcucci was recognized as Offensive Player of the Week. Forcucci, a senior from Winfield, Illinois, tied Wheaton’s single-game record by throwing six touchdown passes in a 52–6 victory over North Park. He completed 13 of 17 passes for 282 yards and achieved a completion rate of 76.5%. His scoring throws included passes of 52, 23, 21, and 11 yards in the first half, followed by touchdowns of 65 and 29 yards early in the second half.
On defense, Peter Johanik from Wheaton received honors after making four solo tackles against North Park, each resulting in lost yardage. Johanik finished with four tackles for loss totaling 13 yards and recorded three sacks for 12 yards. With his fourth tackle for loss during the game, he set a new Wheaton career record with 51 tackles for loss, surpassing former All-American Andy Studebaker’s previous mark.
North Central’s Aidan Ellison earned Special Teams Player of the Week recognition following his performance in a win over Illinois Wesleyan. Ellison made a 42-yard field goal to extend North Central’s lead to 17-7 in the third quarter. He also converted all three extra-point attempts and had four touchbacks on five kickoffs.
The CCIW also provided a list of weekly award winners throughout the season across offensive, defensive, and special teams categories.
