In Westmont, Illinois, the Village has updated its Solar Power page to include new information and resources about community solar programs. This move follows a recommendation from the Westmont Environmental Improvement Committee.

Community solar allows residents who do not have solar panels on their property to participate in offsite solar power projects. By subscribing to these programs, individuals can receive credits for the energy generated and may see a reduction in their overall energy bills.

The Village’s website now features links to several resources, including the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) Community Solar webpage, an informational video on YouTube, and a fact sheet provided by CUB. These additions aim to help residents learn more about how community solar works and how they can participate.

According to village officials, "To help provide information regarding community solar, per the recommendation of the Westmont Environmental Improvement Committee, the Village has updated its Solar Power page to include information and resource links regarding Community Solar."

Residents interested in learning more about community solar options are encouraged to visit the updated page for further details.
