North Central College has achieved the top position in both major Division III football polls this week, according to results released by D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). The Cardinals are now the unanimous number one team, receiving every first-place vote in both national rankings for the first time this season.

Last Saturday, North Central remained undefeated after a decisive 64-7 victory over Carroll in Waukesha, Wisconsin. This win helped them secure all available points in both polls: 625 from D3football.com and 1,300 from the AFCA.

Wheaton College also improved its standing after a 65-0 win against Elmhurst. The Thunder moved up to #18 in the D3football.com poll and held steady at #21 in the AFCA poll. Wheaton’s record stands at 6-2 overall and 5-1 within the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin.

Washington University in St. Louis received one point in the coaches’ poll following their 38-7 victory at Millikin last Saturday, bringing their season record to 6-2.
