North Central College has been named the favorite to win the 2025 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Championship, according to the annual coaches’ poll released on Thursday.
The poll gave North Central eight first-place votes and a total of 64 points. The team is seeking its 51st consecutive conference title. The Cardinals are currently ranked 10th in the latest national poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Carthage received one first-place vote and finished second in the poll with 56 points. Wheaton came in third with 51 points, while Millikin was fourth at 39 points. The rest of the rankings included Illinois Wesleyan (32), Augustana (31), Elmhurst (24), Carroll (19), and North Park (8).
This year’s championship will take place at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois, hosted by Augustana. It marks the first time since 2019 that Rock Island will host the event.
