North Central athletes take both weekly CCIW women’s soccer awards

North Central College athletes have received both the offensive and defensive College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week awards for the most recent week.

Jordan Lange, a junior from Aurora, Illinois, was named the offensive honoree after scoring two goals in North Central’s 3-0 victory over North Park on Saturday. Her first goal came from a penalty kick in the first half, and she added another in the second half. This win secured North Central a share of the CCIW regular-season title. Over two conference games during the week, Lange had a shots-on-goal percentage of .875. North Central also recorded a 2-1 win against Illinois Wesleyan last Wednesday.

On the defensive side, Kassandra Salviola was recognized for her contributions in limiting opponents to just one goal across two conference games. Salviola, who is from Naperville, scored a header off a corner kick in the team’s 2-1 win over Illinois Wesleyan. She also played an important role in the team’s shutout against North Park, marking North Central’s seventh shutout of the season.

The CCIW continues to highlight individual performances each week during the women’s soccer season by naming Student-Athletes of the Week for both offensive and defensive contributions.
