North Park’s Meg Rothermel, North Central’s Sarah Harvey, and Wheaton’s Grace Autry have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week.
Rothermel, a junior from Cary Grove, Illinois, achieved a career-high 18.5 points in North Park's win over Carroll on Friday. She recorded 13 kills on 23 attempts for a .478 hitting percentage and added six blocks along with two service aces.
Harvey averaged 9.50 assists across 14 sets last week as she helped lead North Central to victories over #25 Carthage and St. Mary’s (Ind.). She also contributed 18 digs and 14 service aces during the week, including 10 aces in the match against St. Mary’s. This performance was noted as the second-most aces in a match by a Division III player this season and ranks as the fourth-most in North Central College history.
Autry played a key role in Wheaton's undefeated week, averaging 4.20 digs per set over ten sets as the Thunder went 3-0, including an important CCIW win. In Tuesday's sweep of Augustana, Autry led all players with 15 digs for an average of five per set and matched that average again with a match-high 20 digs in Friday's victory over Illinois Tech.
The weekly honors are part of ongoing recognition for outstanding performances among CCIW women’s volleyball student-athletes throughout September.
