Dan Proft, co-host of AM 560 The Answer, addressed comments made by U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth and other Democrats regarding the nature of protests in Los Angeles. Proft said that these political figures claim mostly peaceful protesters advocate for illegal immigrants while attributing violence and chaos to the Trump administration.
"Let's be clear: LAPD police chief Jim McDonnell disagrees with Duckworth," said Proft, Radio host, political commentator and activist. "Let's be clear: Duckworth and her comrades are arguing that LA is a situation where mostly peaceful protestors are advocating for mostly legal illegal immigrants and the Trump administration's enforcement of federal immigration law is the lawlessness."
Proft's remarks were in response to a post on X by Senator Duckworth, who voiced her opposition to the use of military force against protesters in Los Angeles. Duckworth described such actions as "un-American" and accused the Trump administration of fostering chaos instead of upholding law and order. "Let’s be clear: this isn’t about 'law and order,' it’s about creating chaos," she said. Duckworth emphasized that the National Guard should only be deployed when absolutely necessary and not used to intimidate citizens or escalate tensions.

Wirepoints also responded to Senator Duckworth's post, suggesting that her statement effectively endorses violence and lawbreaking for political purposes. They noted that protests began on June 6, while the National Guard was not deployed until June 8.
Protests in Los Angeles have persisted for five days, with residents demonstrating against immigration enforcement actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). While many protesters have remained peaceful, violent incidents have occurred, including near the Metropolitan Detention Center, a federal facility in Los Angeles. The National Guard and Marines have been dispatched to manage the unrest. According to CBS News, more than 100 individuals have been arrested since the protests commenced, with 96 arrests occurring on June 9 alone.
Proft is known as the co-host of "Chicago's Morning Answer," which airs weekday mornings from 5 to 9 a.m. on AM 560 Chicago. He is a former Republican candidate for Illinois governor and holds degrees from Northwestern University and Loyola University-Chicago.
