Bill Foster comments on economic and community issues, highlights new legislation

Congressman Bill Foster, who has represented Illinois' 11th district in the U.S. Congress since 2013, shared several thoughts and activities through tweets over the past few days. Foster, born in Madison, Wisconsin, and currently residing in Naperville, continues his political career with a focus on economic, community, and legislative issues.

On April 7, 2025, Foster commented on economic policy with a reference to former President Trump's promises. He tweeted: "When Trump promised to reduce prices, I guess he meant stock prices..." expressing a critical view of Trump's economic legacy.

Later that same day, Foster reflected on a community event, tweeting: "Recently, I had the privilege of hosting a pinning ceremony to honor our community's Vietnam War veterans and their surviving spouses. We must never forget the sacrifices made by these brave men and women, and the enduring resilience they've shown in service to our nation."

On April 8, 2025, Foster announced legislative efforts with fellow Congressman Mike Lawler through another tweet: "This week, I introduced the Keep STEM Talent Act with @RepMikeLawler. This bipartisan piece of legislation would retain the international students that receive their advanced STEM degrees here in the US and want to stay and contribute to our economy. This will help keep the US"
