The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced its selections for the Men's Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week. The announcement, made on Wednesday, covers competitions held from February 17 to February 23.
Connor Riss, a graduate student from North Central, was recognized in the track category. Riss secured victory in the 3,000 meters at the F. Lee Slick Invitational last Friday in Naperville with a time of 8:28.43.
In the field category, Jayden Leise, a sophomore also from North Central, earned top honors. Leise achieved first place in the triple jump at the same invitational event with a leap of 14.33 meters. This performance ranks him 29th in Division III this season and his season-best mark is currently ranked 15th nationally.
The list of CCIW Men's Indoor Track Student-Athletes of the Week for the current season includes Connor Riss on February 26 and Evan Lowder from Illinois Wesleyan on February 19. Other honorees include Millikin's 4x400 Meter Relay team on February 12 and Jereme Ombogo from North Park on both January 22 and February 5.
For field events, Jayden Leise was named for February 26, while Magnus Wells from Augustana received recognition on February 19. Kyle Hensley from Millikin was honored on February 12 and Colton Oleson from North Central on February 5.
