Congressman Bill Foster, representing Illinois' 11th district, recently shared several tweets addressing concerns about the Trump Administration's actions and their impact on science and innovation. Foster, who has been serving in Congress since 2013, is organizing a telephone town hall to engage with his constituents.

On February 17, 2025, Congressman Foster announced that his office had received numerous messages from constituents worried about the Trump Administration's actions. He stated, "My office has received thousands of messages and calls from constituents concerned about the Trump Administration's actions. I hear you." He invited his constituents to join a telephone town hall scheduled for February 20 at 7 p.m. CT to discuss these issues.

In a follow-up tweet posted on the same day, he encouraged people to RSVP for the event to ensure they receive a call. He said, "To ensure you receive a call, RSVP at https://t.co/DnnGep88wM."

The following day, on February 18, Foster expressed concern over the Trump Administration's approach towards scientific advancement. He remarked that such actions could impede innovation and affect national competitiveness. His tweet read: "In an era driven by rapid scientific advancement, this action, along with the numerous other attacks on science from the Trump Administration, will hinder innovation and threaten our nation's global competitiveness."
