FOIA Request to DuPage County Sheriff's Office Regarding Inmates with ICE Detainers on February 18, 2025.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the DuPage Policy Journal have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. The requested documents pertain to persons committed to DuPage County Sheriff's Office facilities who have had an Immigration Detainer issued by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency lodged against them since January 29, 2024.
Additionally, we have requested any correspondence from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security regarding civil enforcement that falls under the purview of the TRUST Act and/or the Illinois VOICES Act. This includes any Immigration Detainers received from the Department of Homeland Security that are reportable under these same acts.

We await a response from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office and will continue to keep our readers informed about this important issue.
