State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro has expressed strong disapproval of the DuPage County Board's recent decision to remove Congressman Henry Hyde's name from the county courthouse. She described the action as politically motivated and disrespectful, asserting that it overlooks Hyde's bipartisan contributions.

"Henry Hyde was a dedicated public servant who worked across the aisle on critical issues like child welfare, family leave, and community safety," stated Sanalitro. "His service to our nation, including his time in the military and decades in Congress, deserved to be remembered—not erased."

Hyde was a World War II veteran and a recipient of the Medal of Freedom. He represented the region for over 30 years and was known for his ability to collaborate with those holding different views.

Sanalitro criticized Democrats in DuPage County for what she perceives as politicizing history. "At a time when we should be celebrating leaders who worked across party lines, Democrats in DuPage have chosen to play politics with history," she said. "This decision is wrong, and it disrespects not only Henry Hyde but the countless DuPage residents he served."

She pledged to continue advocating for policies that embody Hyde’s values of service, bipartisanship, and principled leadership.
