Bill Foster raises concerns over funding freeze and treasury access

Congressman Bill Foster, representing Illinois' 11th district, recently took to social media to express his concerns regarding issues affecting his constituents. His posts focused on two main topics: the impact of a funding freeze by former President Trump and the access granted to Team Musk at the U.S. Treasury.

On February 4, 2025, Congressman Foster stated that he had "checked in with local organizations to hear how Trump's illegal funding freeze will impact them." He emphasized that the message from these organizations was clear: "it will disrupt the essential services that so many of our neighbors rely on." Later that day, Foster reported being at the Treasury with colleagues, seeking answers about why "Team Musk was given unrestricted access to the U.S. Treasury payment systems." On February 6, 2025, Foster revisited this issue by highlighting a visit to the Treasury aimed at understanding why Team Musk had unprecedented access to private data of U.S. citizens. However, he noted they were not allowed past the gate during this visit.
