Congressman Bill Foster, representing Illinois' 11th District since 2013, has taken to social media to discuss his role in the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and address ongoing political challenges. His recent tweets highlight both his achievements and concerns regarding the future of the CFPB.

On February 1, 2025, Congressman Foster expressed pride in his contribution to establishing the CFPB. He noted its significant impact, stating "One of my proudest accomplishments in Congress was helping create the CFPB, which, to date, has returned nearly $20 billion to consumers who were treated unfairly by financial institutions."

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, Foster addressed political opposition facing the CFPB. He warned that "This is only the beginning of Republican attacks against the CFPB.
