Bill Foster highlights local student's achievement and addresses economic policy

Congressman Bill Foster, representing Illinois' 11th district, has recently shared several updates on his social media platform. The tweets provide insights into various topics ranging from educational achievements to economic policies and community events.

On December 9, 2024, Congressman Foster congratulated Shushan Arora of Bolingbrook High School for winning the Congressional App Challenge. He highlighted Arora's creation, PrepShield, an app designed to assist families in preparing for emergencies by providing important resources and contacts. Foster expressed appreciation to all participants involved in the challenge. "Congratulations to Shushan Arora of Bolingbrook High School, this year's winner of the Congressional App Challenge! Shushan created PrepShield, an app designed to help families prepare for emergencies with important resources and contacts."

In a subsequent post on December 10, 2024, Congressman Foster addressed economic concerns related to tariffs proposed by President Trump. He urged careful consideration of how these tariffs might impact American consumers and advocated for economic policies aimed at reducing costs rather than increasing them. "I hope President Trump thinks long and hard about how his tariffs would affect American consumers. We need economic policies that lower costs—not raise them."

Later that day, Congressman Foster attended the Midwest Asian Health Association's 2024 Gala. He expressed his honor in participating in the event and commended the association's efforts to enhance access to affordable healthcare across diverse communities. "It was an honor to attend the Midwest Asian Health Association's 2024 Gala this past weekend and to thank them for working to expand access to affordable health care for people in all communities."
