Wheaton Police report arrests and incidents for the week of May 18-24, 2026

The Wheaton Police Department released its weekly arrest and crime report on Jun. 12, detailing arrests and incidents that occurred from May 18 to May 24, 2026.

Arrests during this period included Ferney Cuellar-Jamioy, age 48 of Lake Villa, charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and no valid driver’s license at Pleasant Hill Road and Geneva Road on May 24 at 3:34 a.m.; Matthew D. Kearley, age 28, charged with burglary and attempted burglary at 900 East Crescent Street on May 23 at 9:32 a.m.; Alexandra R. Pierce, age 21 of Wheaton, charged with DUI, unlawful possession of cannabis by driver, and transportation of open alcohol by driver at President Street and Evergreen Street on May 23 at 3:35 a.m.; Gerardo Llanos-Espino, age 35 of West Chicago, charged with DUI at South Schmale Road on May 22 at 10:33 p.m.; Jason J. Pelot, age 34 of Glendale Heights, charged with warrant and battery at his residence on Somerset Drive; Aaron M. Mundie, age 53 of Villa Park, charged with DUI and transportation of open alcohol by driver; Cheryl A. Lowman, age 53 of Wheaton, charged with DUI as well as transportation of open alcohol by driver and damage to city property; Tyrine M. Nkhoma, age 24 of Justice, arrested for warrant and battery; Jacqueline P. Seiler was arrested for attempted theft; John I. Collazo was arrested for driving while license suspended along with obstructing identification.

The department also reported several thefts throughout the week including stolen license plates from Taft Avenue between May 16-18; a wallet taken from Whole Foods Market in Danada Square East on May 18; unauthorized withdrawals in an identity theft case from Creekside Drive; financial fraud involving someone impersonating a disposal company representative reported from Fischer Street; tickets purchased but not received through Facebook Marketplace reported from Dorset Drive dating back to April 14.

Other incidents included criminal defacement found as graffiti in Presidents Park playground equipment as well as Walgreens restroom locations during the week. Two bicycles were reported stolen from Front Street Train Depot bike racks—one secured bike taken between the morning hours on May 21 while another unsecured bike was taken during afternoon hours two days later.

Retail theft was also noted when an unknown male reportedly took alcohol without paying from Walgreens store located on North Main Street late evening hours Saturday.

The police department reminded residents that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court proceedings: “The public is reminded that a complaint contains only charges and is not proof of the defendant’s guilt.” The statement added that defendants are entitled to fair trials where it is the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond reasonable doubt.

Residents are encouraged to submit anonymous tips regarding any crimes using the Anonymous Crime Tips (ACT) program available through text or email via DuPage County Sheriff’s Office website.
