Political activist and radio talk show host Dan Proft recently said that Downers Grove Trustee Leslie Sadowski-Fugitt exemplifies the “hyperpartisan politics” she claims to oppose. His statement came in response to remarks Sadowski-Fugitt made during a public meeting accusing Proft of inciting harassment against her and others in the community.
“DuPage County is rotten with RAWFL (Rich Angry White Leftist Female) crybullies like Downers Grove Trustee Leslie Sadowski-Fugitt perpetually on the verge of hyperventilation while scream shaming anyone who dares not abide her identitarianism,” Proft wrote in a Dec. 5 social media post on X. “She is an ill-mannered, sentimental simpleton who decries the ‘hyperpartisan politics’ she practices.”
Proft denied any role in encouraging profane or threatening messages, saying, “I similarly discourage public confrontations. More projection by this goon and her squad.”
Sadowski-Fugitt, speaking at a public meeting, described receiving hateful messages and claimed Proft was a key instigator. “This is the type of language that our library staff, our library trustees, and myself have endured,” she said, adding, “First, a real shout-out to Dan Proft, who incited a lot of these tweets. … The man who lives in Florida but likes to fund a lot of our hyper-partisan candidates in Illinois.”
Proft defended his support for GOP candidates, calling out what he viewed as a double standard. “It’s not okay for me to support GOP candidates, but it’s okay for her and her fellow travelers to support Leftist candidates,” he wrote. Proft further criticized those in the community who, in his view, fail to challenge leaders like Sadowski-Fugitt.
“The only thing more pathetic than her ignorance and immaturity are those in Downers Grove who won't stand up to her and people like her,” Proft wrote. “That's how you lose your community.”
