State Senator Seth Lewis | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Seth Lewis has invited constituents to submit photos and stories of their veteran family members for a display at the Illinois Capitol. The tribute, known as the Wall of Honor, will be showcased from November 11 to November 25 in recognition of Veterans Day.
"The brave men and women of our armed forces have made significant sacrifices to ensure our freedoms endure, and this Wall of Honor is one small way we can express our gratitude," stated Lewis. "It’s important to never forget the names, faces and stories of these heroes who gave so much through love of their country."
Senator Lewis encourages families to send a photo along with a story not exceeding 250 words. Submissions should include the veteran's name, military branch, and conflict served. While military photos are preferred, they are not mandatory.
Submissions should be emailed to veteransday@sgop.ilga.gov by November 8, 2024. Alternatively, they can be mailed to Veterans Day Wall, 110 D Statehouse, Springfield, IL 62706. For further inquiries, individuals may contact (217) 782-1154.
