Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, has criticized the left for their failure to fulfill promises regarding the welcoming of illegal immigrants. This comes after a recent sign-up sheet for housing migrants in a Chicago suburb was left unattended.

Kirk stated, "Two weeks ago, independent Naperville city councilman Josh McBroom made a public request of the people in his city: Would any residents in his affluent, solidly-blue city volunteer their own homes to shelter some of the tidal wave of illegals in the Chicago area, many of them living on the streets?". He further added, "The answer so far: Crickets" and continued by saying "The left's open borders rhetoric is pure virtue signaling. All of them believe that the costs of illegal immigration should be borne by other people — people like you."

According to Kirk, during a Naperville City Council Meeting held on January 16th, councilman McBroom suggested a city "sign up sheet." Kirk quoted McBroom as saying, "We hear from people that we should do more. We do have a very affluent community, a lot of big homes." Despite this suggestion, no residents have signed up since then. This information was shared by McBroom on the January 25 episode of the Chicago Morning Answer radio show with Dan Proft, as reported by DuPage Policy Journal.

Kirk is recognized as a conservative activist and is renowned for founding Turning Point USA. This conservative student organization has representation at over 2000 campuses nationwide. In addition to his activism work, Kirk hosts the "Charlie Kirk Show" and is also an author with two bestsellers to his name.
