Naperville City Council Member Josh McBroom said he hasn't had any Naperville residents volunteer to house illegal aliens who have moved to the Chicagoland area. McBroom made the comments Thursday on AM 560's Chicago's Morning Answer with Dan Proft and Amy Jacobson.
"It's weird. During the last presidential race, we had thousands of Biden signs in Naperville. We've got houses all over town that advertise support for this mass migration of illegals. They say ‘no human is illegal,” McBroom said. “Since I’ve proposed this, I’ve haven’t had a single person ask me, ‘Where’s the sign-up sheet. I want to sign the sign-up sheet, I’m ready to sign my house up for the sign up sheet’ It’s shocking.”
“These are the people that voted for this. We’ve got thousands of illegals coming into the area. And they’re homeless— in the middle of winter,” McBroom said. ”You voted for this. You sign up. Be the change. Open your house.”
At the Jan. 16 Naperville City Council Meeting, McBroom suggested the city create a "sign up sheet" whereby residents who support illegal immigration to the Chicagoland area could volunteer to house now homeless illegal aliens to live with them. "We hear from people that we should do more,” McBroom said. “We do have a very affluent community, a lot of big homes.”
McBroom earned his Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. He and his wife Emily settled in Naperville in 2001. McBroom is a Financial Advisor and owner of McBroom Financial Group in Naperville. He was elected to the Naperville city council in 2023. His current council term ends in 2027.
