Jerry Evans, a candidate for the 11th Congressional District, recently received an endorsement from DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen. Evans expressed his satisfaction with the support from Jorgensen.

"I am pleased to announce I have received the endorsement of Richard Jorgensen, the DuPage County Coroner," Evans stated on Facebook.

Jorgensen, who is currently serving as the DuPage County Coroner, boasts a distinguished background in medicine and surgery. A native of Lombard, Dr. Jorgensen attended Glenbard East High School and has resided in Wheaton for the past three decades. After obtaining his medical degree from Loyola University and the Stritch School of Medicine, he practiced general/vascular and trauma surgery in Chicago's western suburbs for over 20 years before being elected as Coroner in 2012. According to the National Association of Counties, Jorgensen is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and International College of Surgeons. He also actively participates in various medical societies including the Illinois Coroners and Medical Examiners Association.

Evans is running his campaign with an emphasis on education and community service in the Chicago area. He is a small businessman and founder of a suburban music school. A graduate of Wheaton College with a degree in music, Evans now lives in Warrenville with his wife and sons. His website underscores that he is deeply involved in mentoring, missionary training, and participation in missions to India, Mexico, and South Africa.

The 11th Congressional District is currently represented by U.S. Representative Bill Foster (D-Ill.). A map on his website indicates that the district includes most parts of McHenry and Kane Counties along with portions of Boone, Lake, DeKalb, DuPage, Cook and Will Counties.
