DuPage County Strategic Planning Committee met Sept. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. CALL TO ORDER 

12:00PM meeting was called to order by Chair Sadia Covert at 12:02PM.

2. ROLL CALL 

Other Board members present: Member Michael Childress

Also in attendance: Assistant State's Attorney Renee Zerante; Policy and Program Manager Jason Blumenthal; Director of Community Services Mary Keating; Deputy Chief Financial Officer MaryCatherine Wells; Chief Administrative Officer Nick Kottmeyer; Public Information Officer Evan Shields; and ETSB Executive Director Linda Zerwin.

PRESENT Covert, Cronin Cahill, Rutledge, and Yoo

ABSENT Krajewski, and LaPlante

3. PUBLIC COMMENT 

No public comments were offered.

4. CHAIR'S REMARKS - CHAIR COVERT 

We are joined today by Karen Whichard and Dr. Christine Moses of BerryDunn to discuss the current status of the strategic planning process for DuPage County and to give a presentation on their initial environmental scan and some of the themes that have emerged from their findings. In addition, they will discuss what will be occurring at the four upcoming public forums that will be held throughout the county.

6. PRESENTATION 

6.A. Strategic Planning Initial Environmental Scan - BerryDunn

Karen Whichard, Senior Consultant with Local Government Practice, BerryDunn and Dr. Christine Moses updated the committee on the current status of the strategic planning process. They shared initial feedback from stakeholder interviews and emerging themes identified from the initial environmental scan. They noted that there are community forums scheduled for September 6 at the West Chicago and Elmhurst public libraries and September 7 at the Wheaton and Lisle public libraries.

Following their presentation, they received questions and comments from committee members.

7. OLD BUSINESS 

No old business was discussed.

8. NEW BUSINESS 

No new business was discussed.

9. ADJOURNMENT 

With no further business and without objection, the meeting was adjourned.
