Q4 2022 Recap: 4 parolees from Dupage County convicted of crimes involving alcohol set for release

There were four offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Dupage County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 49. The youngest parolee was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 52-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jose Cuiriz. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 51 years old. He is now 52.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
