The Elmhurst University track and field teams competed in the Aurora Grand Prix at the Gately Indoor Track and Field Complex.

Ava David was the first athlete to break a school record in today's meet. She improved upon her previous school record in the 400-meter dash (57.56 seconds) by 1.3 seconds for a new time of 56.26 seconds. This time is currently ranked second in the country.

Alyssa Rafuse earned a sixth-place finish in the mile, while also breaking a school record with a time of 5:02.40. Rounding out the record-breaking efforts was Nakala Nadeau who broke her own record she set earlier this season in the 60-meter hurdles. Nadeau placed second in the event and her time (8.84 seconds) ranks eighth in the country.

On the men's side, Jeremy Inniss finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 6.48 meters. Rickey Martinez and Patrick Campbell jumped two top-five distances in the triple jump. Martinez earned a third-place finish with a 13.24-meter distance, while Campbell jumped a personal best, 12.68 meters, for a fifth-place finish in the meet, which also ranks fifth in the CCIW currently.

Braxston Redmond improved upon his own school record he set in the 400-meters with a time of 49.51 to finish in fifth-place.

The Bluejay track and field teams are back in action on Saturday, Febrauary 3 at the Tadd Metzger Multi hosted by Carthage College, with events starting at 3:00 p.m.
