City of Darien Administrative-Finance Committee met May 2.

Chairwoman/Alderwoman Sullivan called the Meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Committee member Aldermen Vaughan was present. City Administrator Vana, Treasurer Coren, and Mayor Marchese were also present. Glen Liljeberg, owner of Sunrise Communications Inc., participated via phone.
Sunrise Communications
Staff advised the FYE 23 budget includes funds to upgrade the media room and replace the microphones in the council chambers. The current equipment has reached its useful life, and at times, falters. The upgrade will provide a more reliable system since the current switcher is old and no longer supported. Additionally, the microphones are approximately 15 years old and are in need of replacement. Sunrise Communications, Inc. provided quotes for the project including equipment and labor for a total estimated project cost of $63,500.
The committee unanimously approved a motion recommending approval of a proposal from Sunrise Communications in an amount not to exceed $63,500 for the labor and materials for the replacement of the broadcast system in the media room and the Council Room microphones.
