North to stage “The Women of Troy”
Glenbard North’s theatre program will present their winter studio, “The Women of Troy,” by Euripides and adapted by David Grote.
The powerless but still defiant women of the defeated city of Troy – now the spoils of war – wait for the Greeks to decide their fate. Hecuba, the fallen queen, must lead her people into an unknown and terrifying world. The play is a protest against the way Athens treated the rights of women. Adapted by Grote, the play explores the essence of human dignity and questions how one stays hopeful in the face of turmoil.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. March 10 and 12 and at 4 p.m. March 11 in Glenbard North’s Little Theatre.
Tickets are $5 and available by calling 630-653-7000 Ext. 3820 or going to glenbardnorthhs.seatyourself.biz.
The cast includes Addison Gwaltney, Lauren McHenry, Chelsea Perez, Kay Parrish, Kate Orozco, Alexa Rodriguez, Livy King, Alyssa Passero, Gianna Nascimento, Jessica Housour, Danielle Lill and Molly Heidman. Student leaders include Jared Arens, Emiliano Rivas III, Belle Torres, Griffin Hall, Zach Lazzara, Kelly Kieu, Megan Garcia and Roxanne Bakir.
